Emotions I Feel, 2025, Procreate
Taking part in a viral art trend, this artwork is made using colors symbolizing the welling of emotions I feel. In order, the pink represents anger, orange jealously, yellow happiness, green fear, blue sadness, and purple disgust. Making this was therapeutic in a way and helped me identify on a closer scale the way I had been feeling since starting my first semester in college.
Fallen Angel, 2024, Procreate
A formal representation of my relation with religion as a person brought up with the Bible. The concept of the Abrahamic God and his cruelty to his children written in terms of “love” and “compassion” as he damns them for all time terrifies me. If I was his child, why would he hurt me, his creation?
Unnecessarily Complex Outfit, 2024, Procreate
Annually, during the month of October, various art groups come together to create a community-set month-long art challenge where artists, following a set theme and keywords, create drawings daily to push themselves to be creative. In 2024, I participated in a version suitably named “Cringetober” where artists would draw things like bad MS Paint art or game characters. This day’s piece was for a character with an overly complicated outfit design and what better for that than a character with 4 full sets of wings?
It was a bad dream, 2024, Procreate
A self-portrait of myself at 11 years old. Through life, I’ve dealt with many difficult and plainly unimaginable problems leading to mental struggles that took many years of effort to overcome. This digital painting was something I made during the process as a means to cope with it all, imagining what life would be like if it were all just a bad dream.
Everything Inside, 2025, Procreate
I’ve always said that I’m “allergic to making art that I don’t like” and this self-portrait encapsulates that idea perfectly. Surrounded by a cosmos created entirely of other artwork I’ve made, some featuring religious context to my life, another section featuring my partner, and a final major point with two of my favorite original characters, I’m drawn in a guarded position with a gaze hostile to viewers. Not only are the details things relating to my artistic life, but the space-themed surroundings tie into another of my deep-rooted interests in space and astronomy.
